As we packed up from a nearly week-long adventure, I couldn’t help but be grateful for our time at camp. We’d successfully gotten away from wi-fi and noisy neighbors. A big part of me didn’t even want to go home. The most amazing part was that we had slept well—away from our own beds. This is no small feat for a family of seven. But thanks to our extensive collection of TETON Sports sleeping bags, we were more comfortable at camp than we had originally hoped for.
For this mom, having the children sleep well is the first step in getting my own restful sleep. We purchased two Celsius Jr. Sleeping Bags from TETON Sports before our trip and hoped they would do the job of keeping our littles warm through the night. We knew the forest would be at least 20 degrees cooler at any given time than the in valley where we live. I’m happy to report that they more than did their job. Neither of the smallest of our crew woke me up during the entire trip.
When I asked my 7-year-old daughter what she liked about her sleeping bag, she said she loved how it kept her warm. My 4-year-old boy reported the same. “It keeps me warm.” That’s its job! Because body heat is what warms our sleeping bag, we were concerned that he doesn’t fit his bag quite as well as his sister, so I was especially grateful that he was sleeping well.
So, what’s the big deal? Well, if you’ve ever shopped for a children’s sleeping bag, you know how challenging it can be to find something affordable and effective. After all, they’re going to outgrow the bag in a few short years. It’s more frustrating than buying shoes for them. Most of the stuff on shopping sites is made for sleepovers, not outdoor use. The TETON Sports Celsius Jr. offered a reasonable solution to both challenges, so we invested. Now we’re so glad we did!
The Celsius Jr. is built like an adult’s sleeping bag. That was the first feature that caught our eye. It has a zipper draft tube and a hood, just like it’s adult counterpart. It’s also made of the same soft poly-flannel lining and durable shell that the Celsius Sleeping Bags have. And we love the convenient little pocket that is just inside the bag, so the child has a spot to keep a flashlight, tissue, or random comfort toy nearby all night.
On the last night of our trip, we drove up to the top of a nearby hill to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. The Celsius Jr. was a welcome guest. It’s so lightweight we just threw them into the back of the truck as an afterthought. Our little ones stayed warmer than the rest of us and were up for a LOT more stargazing than the big kids, because they had their sleeping bags. We ended the activity with half the family in the truck waiting for the 7- and 4-year-old to be ready to leave.
Family campers take note! The Celsius Jr. Sleeping Bag makes the dream of a good night’s sleep for everyone a reality.
