Outdoor brand helps launch year-long program to help kids across Utah enjoy the outdoors.
SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 22, 2025 – Teton, an outdoor brand renowned for comfortable, dependable products that are easy to set up and easy on the wallet, is teaming up with the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation and helping to kick start this year’s Every Kid Outdoors (EKO) Adventure Challenge on Friday, January 24, with an event at Millcreek Commons. As an EKO Gear Sponsor, the company is donating equipment to inspire healthy living and help kids enjoy the outdoors.
The program is designed to engage school-age youth (ages 5-18) in fun, seasonal outdoor activities. While the challenges are primarily aimed at youth in grades 4-6, the program is open to all school-age children and their families. Each month, participants will be invited to take on new challenges that promote outdoor recreation, nature exploration and skill-building, all while fostering a lifelong love for the outdoors.
At the kickoff event, kids will have an opportunity to test out kid friendly outdoor gear like kid-sized sleeping bags, pillows and backpacks designed to help families get outside more often and enjoy the outdoors. Other program partners in attendance will include the Natural History Museum of Utah, Ski Utah, Red Butte Garden, Utah State Historic Preservation Office, Summit Journeys, Wasatch Adaptive Sports, National Ability Center, USDA Forest Service, Girls on the Run Utah, Momentum Indoor Climbing, Tracy Aviary, Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, Utah Hockey Club, Inspired Summit Adventures and more.
“Helping everyone enjoy the outdoors is our primary goal, and being part of this Every Kid Outdoors program is how we do it,” said Scott Holmes, CEO of Teton. “We know that every journey starts with the gear, and that’s why we’re sponsoring and donating to make sure that participating kids have the best experience possible. Reconnecting kids and their families to the nature around us here in Utah and supporting healthier lifestyles is how we make our community brighter, and we look forward to continuing to support the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation and our other program partners throughout this year and beyond.”
This Friday’s kickoff event runs from 2-5 p.m. and features free ice skating, dynamic activities, exclusive prizes and hot cocoa. Across the year, additional events will be held to rally participants around the challenge including the following:
- Frosty Fun & Discovery Adventure Challenge at Soldier Hollow on February 21
- Every Kid Outdoors Utah Rocks! Challenge on March 21
- Every Kid Outdoors Starry Skies Challenge at Coral Pink Sand Dunes on April 25
