I have been searching for a good, long day/overnight pack. My husband swore by Teton and I took a gamble on this. It is comfortable and I've worn it on multiple hikes now, weighed down with lots of water and clothing to test it out and break it in. After 50+ miles wearing this, I can say it's probably the best pack I've owned. There's plenty of room for everything (I've had a change of clothes, a days worth of food, extra shoes, 5 liters of water, towel, first aid kit, and plenty of room for taking top layers off and putting them in the pack with room to spare as the day goes on). Theres also multiple bungee cords on the outside for easy storing of outer layers you may need access to. There's also extra straps and loops to attach even more to the outside of thepacket, as needed. The only thing I wish it had was waist band pockets. I love that the sleeping bag compartment (which PERFECTLY fits the Teton Sport ls Trailhead sleeping bag) has a zipper so you can make the main pocket one large area instead of broken down.
As a 5'1, 105 lb female, it fits pretty well. I have to tighten the waist belt as far as it goes and it's just barely too big in the waist. The rest of the backpack is super adjustable and changing torso height is so easy. After the last hike I was a little sore in the shoulders, but a 30lb pack on 18 miles will do that. I was able to wear it all day, no problem.
The rain cover was perfect the one time I've used it. Fit over my full bag that had water bottles…

Just tried out the scout 55L bag and I’m glad it was my choice for my first bag. Did a bunch of reading before buying and it held to the standards/opinions of others. Very comfortable to carry and a great amount of room to hold things. Would recommend to anyone just starting to backpack. Best budget bag.

I have not used my pack yet but I have tried it on and love how it fits me. I am 6ft 2in athletic build and the way the pack fits to my torso is going to be quite comfortable. I like the simple design, and this is probably one of the best packs for the money. I’m grateful for Teton Sports products and plan on getting more from the site. I’m in Florida and it’s summer so it will be a couple months before I begin my adventures Scoutfan10

At 5'10 160lbs I have carried my Teton 55l pack weighing in at 45lbs well over 1000 miles across this beautiful country. As an avid outdoorsman and gear enthusiast. I could not be more impressed. This pack easily compares and even surpasses many packs well beyond this price range.

Construction solid, I have the 65L and am very happy I went with this size. I pack for me and the kids with this one pack for the weekend. Plans to use this for hiking and with the padded hip support and adjustable shoulder strap height makes this ideal on the trails.

Bought each of my sons (12 & 14 years old) a 55L pack to take on their first backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts. This backpack was the perfect size for all of their gear, and the various pockets kept them well-organized. It is especially convenient having the separate bottom area for a sleeping bag - easier to organize and access the rest of the gear in the main area. Plus, all of the straps on the outside are perfect for quick access to a jacket or other gear. I am now planning on buying myself a 65L one. A great overall pack!

I was so impressed with the Teton Summit 1500 that I decided to pill the trigger on ac55L and it’s great for extended day hikes in Tennessee. I’m 6’6” 245lb and it is very adjustable to fit my body. Most pack loads have been 30-40lb range and there is no sagging like its overloaded. Of course the volume makes it easy to store rain or jackets once the Tennessee sun comes up on cool mornings and *** hits those brights! Could use dry tooling straps on it like my 1500 but I can lash them in other places. Very well made pack and is a bargain for the money. Keep up the good work Teton.

I tried on many packs at REI and just couldn’t decide on one I liked that had all the pockets, and rain cover, and adjustability I was looking for that was also at a reasonable price. I found it in this bag with the warranty. I haven’t taken it out for its first hike but I am beyond excited! It does fit well and the weight is well distributed.

Bought the scout 65 for a backpacking trip. This was my first backpacking trip with a group of guys from church. A few guys recommended this bag as they had the same one. I am an army airborne infantry veteran so I’m no stranger to hauling around 65+ pounds on my back. This pack was so much more comfortable than any other rucksack I have ever used and much more economical. Of course my rucksack had many different things in it than what is needed to go backpacking. I think the military should consider re-engineering their rucksacks after using this pack for 7 days. Loved it so much I ordered 2 more smaller ones for my kids.
