Camp Cots with Pivot Arm

I recently got the Teton Gear Universal XL Camp Cot, and it's exceeded all my expectations. I'm 6'5" tall 200lbs seems to be long enough for me, but I notice after getting up from the cot, the fabric seems to have stretched a little to cause ripples. While setting up the cot had major problems with end bar lining up while using pivot arm. Noticed screw was a little loose on bar that had pivot arm attached too. So I pulled pivot arm attachment as close as possible towards end of main frame, then tightened screw. Seemed to help move end bar closer, but still having trouble getting attached. I had to pull on end bar to pull fabric to make it align properly. Oh my! Tried to stretch fabric to move closer to provide little space so I can attach end bar with pivot arm, but almost hurt my hand in the process.

After a lot of pulling end bar to stretch fabric and pounding on end bar to latch onto the main bar, it finally attached! I seem to have to do this every time I set up this Teton cot Not sure why other reviews show it all goes together so easily, but when I put it together, it's a major issue!

Construction seems solid once all put together, but be careful on end bars. The end bars can easily come unattached when moving cot around. Hence the reason I give this cot only 3 stars. Would I buy again, probably not.

Included a few photos of the XXL Teton Cot. You can see in one photo that the fabric is a bit wrinkled after using, but doesn't seem to mess with the functionality of the product. Another photo the fabric is centered on main frame, but still…

I watched a few videos online before deciding to go with this cot. I chose it primarily because of it's size. It's as big as a twin size bed and just as sturdy. I purchased a 4" mattress topper to use with it and slept wonderfully in my sleeping bag. I am a side sleeper and therefore swap sides a lot and this felt solid and secure when swapping from side to side.

Set up is intuitive and a breeze. The little pivot arm makes getting the final piece in place simple and provides for a nice tight canvas to sleep on with just the right amount of give.

I'm not a small guy (235 lbs) and me and the wife snuggled up on it and it felt secure.

I’m 5’ 9” and about 245. I used this cot for a week straight while on a camping trip. I found that when my feet hung off the end the rail hurt my feet. Naturally I would scoot up. This put my hips right where the middle legs brackets land. This in turn gave me bruises on both hips due to trying to move away from one side to another. If I order again I’ll most definitely get a wider version to stop this. We do this trip every year and in the past I’ve had issues (on other brands) with the middle leg brackets failing where I sit up in the mornings. This cot did not have any issues with that so I’d say it’s pretty solid. I do use some boards to help with this issue. Overall it’s a solid cot but for a bigger person you will need a wider version.
