Tracker 5˚F Double Mummy Sleeping Bag

This was my third double sleeping bag, first by Teton. I was skeptical that there would be enough space for me and my girlfriend, since it's a mummy bag, but we both absolutely love it. On our first trip, we ended up with a 4 year old and a small dog in the bag, and still had a little extra space.

We have been plenty warm in temperatures as low as 15°f, with sleeping pads. We have not had the opportunity to use it in anything colder than that.

Another worry was the feel of the inside material. My girlfriend does not like the cold feeling of sheets on her skin. Luckily, she has no problem with the material in this bag. She says it's just fuzzy enough to be comfortable.

It packs down small enough for one of us to carry, backpacking. It's by no means small, but it's smaller than when we tried to pack 2 individual 5° bags in one hiking pack.

My only criticism is the size of the stuff sack. It's made of a good material and construction. I just wish the size was a little bigger to make packing it in easier. I am also a little worried about the integrity of the sack where the compression straps are connected. Over time it's feeling closer and closer to ripping. That being said, we have used the sleeping bag and stuff sack about 35 times.

Overall, we love it and will be buying more Teton products!

After several attempts of searching for a sleep system, let alone a double that would meet or exceed my expectations, Teton Sports finally delivered!! This is after trying several different bags/manufacturers in a variety of environments. The true test for me was the cold test. The bag was comfortable, easy to get in/out of, draw strings at the hood and chin were easy to use and adjust. There were no drafts, no cold spots, and no cold nylon material to get into. I finally do not have to worry about zippers catching anymore either. The bag is easy to pack and the compression sack compresses the sleep system small enough to fit in a pack. The most important trail requirement is the fact that the system weight is only 8 pounds. It is far more practical and easier to pack one bag than trying to find two individual bags that can compare to this bag. Thank you Teton Sports, you really delivered with this sleeping bag.

I have lots of bags from various manufacturers to compare with and this is actually a very nice and well constructed bag. I like to be very toasty warm when camping (tent) and so all bags' temperature ratings seem very optimistic to me. But my wife and I camped in Great Basin Ntl. Park at down to 14 degrees F and we were very comfortable. Admittedly we had another cheap bag thrown over the top of this one for insurance but this seems as warm as any typucal "5 degree bag" from the other top manufacturers. An incredible value for its price. I bought this bag directly from Teton's website and the service and delivery were excellent.
